The Story of CCI
Community Impactivism:

We used to believe that passion, knowledge, and hard work were enough; that if a public-serving organization had a strong mission and dedicated personnel, funding and sustainability would follow.
However, through our own personal experiences working in these organizations and later, when we conducted:

interviews,

field studies,

polling, and

close examination,

we saw something different.
We saw nonprofits and public agencies doing critical work:

Protecting the environment.

Expanding access to childcare and workforce opportunities.

Advancing social justice.

Tackling food & housing insecurity.

Providing senior services.
-
Addressing animal welfare.

Enriching communities through the arts and recreation.

Strengthening quality of life.

Yet, behind the scenes:

Staff members, volunteers, and leaders were stretched thin.

Funding was inconsistent.

Strategic plans were outdated or nonexistent.

Infrastructure couldn’t support growth.

Pivotal opportunities were missed.

Organizations lacked the capacity to collaborate.

Even the most impactful programs were at risk. The mission was strong, but the organizational capacity wasn’t.
That realization led to the creation of Community Capacity Initiative.

Headquartered in Upstate New York, Community Capacity Initiative (CCI) is a 501(c)(3) organization that serves communities nationwide.
Our Mission:

Founded by accomplished leaders from the nonprofit, corporate, behavioral science, and public service sectors, CCI was built to be the strategic partner mission-driven organizations need.
